So in middle school we weren’t allowed to have any drinks aside from water but I kept sprite or the clear kool aid in a water bottle and felt like I was someone who made moonshine during the prohibition era.

mcwithams:

It seemed to her that she had begun to live in an abyss, and that it was Jean Valjean  who had rescued her from it. Her childhood produced upon her the effect of a time where there had been nothing around her but millipedes, spiders and serpents. When she meditated in the evening, before falling asleep, as she had not a very clear idea that she was Valjean’s daughter, and that he was her father, she fancied the soul of her mother had passed into that good man and had come to dwell near her.

When he was seated, she leaned her cheek against his white hair, and dropped a silent tear, saying to herself: “Perhaps this man is my mother.”

responses to Yahoo’s coverage of the sexist Merida redesign

gotta love it

yahoo commentary is always a cesspool and also really odd because everyone looks like 25 year old smiling anime characters

also I like that someone pointed out how Mulan had her sword taken away and was stuck in a dress but instead of seeing this as a problem, they were just like “Well that happened when I was a kid and I turned out just fine”

Like I’ve said before, if people turning out fine (by their own definition of the word, too) means an action is okay, that can justify almost anything bad that has ever happened. It’s not a useful tool for determining anything (other than what your own biases are)

I got into a slight discussion of this bullshit on a Disney animator’s Facebook status yesterday. Their friend had commented about how “the paranoid conspiracy theorist moms” had all overreacted to affect the change on the Princess site.
I was fucking livid.

wait, was it an actual animator’s status? Did the animator comment about it or just their friend? You should screen shot ;) and change the names if you like… but I’d like to see it, personally!

^^ um that sentence above didn’t sound flaccid.

How Ro words things: I’m reverting back to writing in fragments then tying them with drab and flaccid lines inundated in indifferent arrogance. It’s a hit or miss. Ugh.

How Winnie words things: I’m going back to writing like so asdfghjkl then typing them again with just crap, then adding more crap on it. It’s like…you feel me? Ugh.
